Spotlight on growth.

Dear Members,

Monocacy Montessori Communities Inc. would like to warmly welcome all new and returning families, and wish each of our Montessori learners a year of growth and achievement!

MMCI is the non-profit that holds the charters for and oversees Monocacy Valley Montessori (MVM) and Carroll Creek Montessori (CCM), and every parent, guardian, and staff member at our schools is a member of MMCI. The 2023-24 School Year will be marked by historic milestones for both MMCI schools, and the Board is thrilled to share in celebrating our achievements with you, our fellow members.

We encourage every member to be mindful of our shared responsibility as part of a charter school community. Each of us has a voice, and our involvement in our schools is vital to our

continued growth and success. There are so many opportunities for our members to make a difference, in leadership and school governance, fundraising, school operations, advocacy, and much more.

Please begin by saving the date for our 2023 Annual Meeting and Election: Tuesday, November 28, 2023 at Carroll Creek Montessori, 7215 Corporate Court, Frederick. There will be more information to come soon about the Annual Meeting, the Nomination process and the Election, and how you can get involved!

We’ve come a long way, Meerkats!

In 2022, Maryland’s First Public Charter School, Monocacy Valley Montessori Public Charter School, celebrated its 20th year in operation. This year, MVMPCS opened Frederick County’s first Public Montessori High School, and MMCI made history with the purchase of a permanent home for our Meerkats at 64 Thomas Johnson Drive in Frederick. All of these accomplishments, from founding a charter school 2 decades ago, to securing millions in facilities funding in 2023, are in large part due to the efforts of our dedicated volunteers.

Una Vision Compartida

Carroll Creek Montessori Public Charter School celebrated its milestone 10 year anniversary in 2022, and this year MMCI and CCM Facilities Committee volunteers secured the zoning permits needed to move forward with the purchase of their current school building at 7215 Corporate Court in Frederick. This achievement is the culmination of the shared vision ~ una vision compartida ~ and determination of our small charter school community!

The Future...

Where will our future take us? The exciting answer is... wherever we want to go! Whether it’s charter school advocacy, program offerings and expansion, grant writing, or capital purchases and facilities projects, if we can dream it, we can do it! When our volunteers put their hearts and minds behind an idea, we can do anything!

All it takes is you... all it takes is us!
