MMCI BOARD OF TRUSTEES
Monocacy Montessori Communities Incorporated is the nonprofit that holds MVM's charter. MMCI is governed by a Board of Trustees (BOT), elected annually from the membership. The BOT is responsible for setting the mission and strategic direction of the organization with oversight of the organization’s finances, operations, and overarching policies. Every member of our Meerkat community is a member of MMCI! Check out some of the current opportunities to volunteer at the BOT level below!Engaged and Involved Community Members NEEDED! Did you know that attending one of the virtual BOT meetings is an easy way to earn a couple of volunteer hours?
BOT Meetings are held virtually on the last Wednesday of every month at 7pm, and the agenda and log in instructions are sent out a day or so ahead of the meetings.

The BOT currently has an opening for our Assistant Treasurer position, which is currently vacant. The term runs through June 30, 2023, and the position will be on the ballot in November for a term that runs July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2025.

Do you have experience with Commercial Facilities Projects, Planning and Zoning, Law or Real Estate? The MVMPCS Facilities Committee is seeking a dedicated and collaborative team leader, to take us across the finish line with our facility purchase.

Have you ever considered serving in a Leadership position on the BOT?
The time is right (now!) to begin attending meetings, asking questions, and figuring out if BOT Leadership is the perfect fit for you! Positions up for election at our Annual Meeting this November are as follows: BOT President, Secretary, Assistant Treasurer, one Parent Trustee, and one Friend of Education. Could one of these be right for you, or someone you know?

We are looking for volunteers to assist with MMCI Lottery database administration. This position is year-around, but requires a greater time commitment from January through April of each year.

We are looking for community members who are interested in joining our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee. We currently have openings for Parent and Staff members and are accepting nominations via email.

We are looking for volunteers to help coordinate the Nominating process ahead of the MMCI Annual Meeting in November, and recruit qualified candidates to run for open Leadership positions.
This Committee doesn't become active until late September/ early October, however it's never too early to consider volunteer roles that are a good fit for your schedule and skill set.

We are looking for volunteers to advocate for Charter School success at both the local and State level.

The BOT is looking for volunteers to help with a variety of communications needs: writing and promoting press releases, compiling electronic newsletters, managing social media accounts, upgrading the current MMCI website to a more modern theme, and managing content at mmcimd.org.

The BOT is currently assembling a Strategic Planning Committee, and looking for volunteers to develop a Strategic Plan for MMCI.

We are looking for a volunteer to lead our Enrichment/ Programs Committee, establishing and nurturing community partnerships, and researching and implementing enrichment programs for both MMCI schools.

Recently MVMPCS received conditional BOE approval to expand our charter to include a High School, beginning in the 2023-24 School Year. We are looking for volunteers to manage and contribute to the High School Expansion project from this point through completion.
